Ms. Jennifer Ainsley

Ms. Ainsley is our front desk personnel. She has been with our practice since 2012. Jennifer is an important member of our team; she coordinates all patients appointments and ensure the clinic runs smoothly.

Dr. Anierhe Joan Abohweyere first trained as a Paediatrician in Nigeria’s Premier Teaching Hospital the “University College Hospital Ibadan”. Following this, she worked as a Consultant Paediatrician for nearly a decade in Nigeria prior to relocating to England.

Dr. Anierhe Joan Abohweyere first trained as a Paediatrician in Nigeria’s Premier Teaching Hospital the “University College Hospital Ibadan”. Following this, she worked as a Consultant Paediatrician for nearly a decade in Nigeria prior to relocating to England.
She worked as a Consultant Paediatrician at St George’s Hospital in London before moving to Canada.

She then completed another Paediatrics Residency training at the Hospital for Sick Children in Toronto.
Dr. Abohweyere has extensive experience caring for a wide range of childhood illnesses in Paediatrics, having worked in respiratory and cardiac clinics, emergency medicine and with children with special needs, including ADHD and Autism Spectrum Disorder

 Dr. Javier Adrian-Gutierrez completed his Medical Degree and Paediatric Residency in Spain before moving to Toronto to work at the Hospital for Sick Children. 

Dr. Adrian is passionate about patient safety and education; he is also a director of the paediatric undergraduate program at Lakeridge Health and a clinical instructor.

When he isn't seeing his patients, Javier can be found playing tennis, soccer or the piano.

  Dr.  Hanh Heather Duong completed her Doctor of Medicine and Paediatric training from the University of Saskatchewan.

Dr. Duong is passionate about pediatric global health.  She has experience caring for children with a wide range of acute and chronic medical conditions, school related problems, developmental delays and has special interest in inpatient eating disorder management.

Dr. Elmekkawi has been a Pediatrician and Neonatologist for over 15 years. He completed his Fellowship training at Sickkids Hospital in 2014.  Amir is currently serving as the division head of the NICU at Lakeridge Health and a faculty member at Queens University. He is passionate about his premature and tiny patients' health care, inclu

 

Dr. Elmekkawi has been a Pediatrician and Neonatologist for over 15 years. He completed his Fellowship training at Sickkids Hospital in 2014.  Amir is currently serving as the division head of the NICU at Lakeridge Health and a faculty member at Queens University. He is passionate about his premature and tiny patients' health care, including graduates from the NICU. Also, he provides the RSV prophylaxis program.

Dr. Mary Mitchell was the first practicing Pediatrician in Whitby. She has been on staff at  Lakeridge Health since 1993. Mary has served as our Chief of Paediatrics and played a key role in making the hospital program a regional leader.  She obtained her education at the University of Toronto and McMaster University in Hamilton.
