Below are medication medications often used in ADHD treatment. Please discuss with your physician further regarding your child's treatment.

Positive parenting program

Positive Parenting Program, also referred to as Triple P, provides parents with a toolbox of ideas in which they could choose the strategies to help promote enjoyable family life. Check out the link below to find the closest session near you. The program is now available virtually.

Kinark SNAP proram

Stop Now And Plan, is an evidence-based cognitive behavioural model that provides a framework for teaching children struggling with behaviour issues, and their parents, effective emotional regulation, self-control and problem-solving skills. The primary goal of SNAP is to help children to stop and think before they act, and keep them in school and out of trouble. 


Children and youth ages 6 – 12.

Kids and youth with an ASD diagnosis are not eligible for this program.

Early years center

Early years Center provides learning programs and resources for children and parents. Find local center through www.ontarioearlyyears.ca  

Preschool/daycare program

 Preschool/Daycare program is recommended. Child care subsidy may be available for eligible families based on residency and income. Please contact the Duham Children’s Division at 905-666-6239 or www.region.durham.on.ca/childrensservices

2. For non-life threatening crisis and requiring immediate intervention, call the Durham Region Crisis Response Line at 905-666-0483 or 1-800742-1890. Also 24 hour crisis line Kids Help Phone through 1-800-668-6868


3. Kinark Child and Family Services provides supports to children and families with mental health concerns. They provide individual, family and group counselling. Central intake team contact is 1-888-454-6275
